Mary Margaret Curtner, 79, of Carlyle, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Carlyle Health Care in Carlyle, IL. Mary was born January 23, 1938, the daughter of Herman and Bernice (Alls) Frank in Bolivia, IL . She married Billie Max Curtner on September 1, 1955 in Hernando, MS.


Mrs. Curtner is survived by her loving children, Jackie Yardley and husband Calvin of Carlyle, Terry Curtner and wife Julie of Walnut Hill, Danny Curtner and wife Dotty of Salem, Kim Starr and husband Tim of Sandoval, Jerry Curtner and wife Shelley of Commerce City, CO; cherished grandchildren, Heather Childress and husband David, Chris Yardley and wife Rachel, Angie Langenhorst and husband Paul, Billie Yardley and wife Karen, Andrea Curtner, Adam Curtner & special friend Mamie Pender, Josh Curtner, Clarrissa Strauch and husband Jimmy, Ashley Niepoetter and husband Ricky, Erica Hand and husband Robert, Shannon Knabe and special friend Taylor Thomas, Brandi Starr, Tessa Starr, Kade Kuhn, Lynsey Curtner, Greg Curtner; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Frank and wife Connie of Mt. Auburn; sisters, Stella Taft of Rochester, Il, Melinda States of Geff, Il; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Curtner is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, Billie Curtner; son, Bobby Curtner

Mary was a faithful member of the Shattuc United Methodist Church where she shared her gift of playing the piano for many years. She spent enjoyable time crocheting and knitting. Mary will be remembered as a truly devoted grandmother as she never missed one of her grandchildren’s ball games. If she wasn’t cheering on her grandchildren she was cheering on her favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals as she was an avid fan. Mary also loved to play bingo.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Pastor Steve Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the funeral home in Sandoval from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
