Lucille Marie “Blondie” McClelland, 98, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Salem Township Hospital in Salem. She was born the daughter of Andrew and Marie (Grawe) Spinner on November 6, 1919 in Centralia. She married Robert McClelland Sr., and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her loving son, Robert McClelland Jr. of Marion; her cherished granddaughter, Melissa McClelland and husband Larry Skinner of Alaska; her precious great-granddaughter, Megan Skinner of Alaska; sister-in-law, Evelyn Spinner, of Sandoval; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McClelland was preceded in death by both her parents, Andrew and Marie Spinner; her husband, Robert McClelland Sr.; her brothers, Raymond Spinner, Ernest Spinner, Ralph Spinner, and Norman Spinner.

Lucille was a true lady of faith, serving as a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval. As a child Lucille’s family was one that was stricken by tragedy, she lost her father in the 1947 Centralia Coal Mine Disaster. She was delighted to share her gift of crocheting with family and friends. Lucille was well known for being friendly and lighting up a room with her smile. Everyone received joy from admiring her Christmas tree she loved to decorate with every holiday. Lucille will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Father Dale Maxfield will officiate. Memorial contributions in Lucille’s honor may be made to the Donor’s Choice and can be accepted at the funeral home.
