Robert “Bob” Dean Oehmke, 88, of Sandoval, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born November 30, 1929, the son of August Charles and Helen (Stein) Oehmke. He married Marilyn Smith on June 29, 1955, in Centralia. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2014.

Bob is survived by his seven children, Chris Oehmke and wife Erin of Centralia, Mitch Oehmke and wife Laura of Effingham, Doug Oehmke and wife Miranda of Sandoval, Theresa Rudolph and husband Mark of Junction City, Marcus Oehmke and wife Cora of Sandoval, Sarah Monken and husband Tim of Centralia, and Fred Oehmke of Los Angeles, Calif; seven grandchildren, Kyle Oehmke, Brian Oehmke and wife Jessica, Stacie Oehmke, Katie Oehmke, Connor Oehmke, Marilinda Oehmke, and Tressa Rudolph; three step-grandchildren, Larry Duncan II and wife Kyra, Cory Duncan, and Christina Smith; two-great-grandchildren, Robbie and Emily Oehmke; and nine step-great-grandchildren, Marisa, Julien, Lexia, Lydia, Temperance and Tinsley Duncan, Kacie Watson, and Liam and Kybrick Duncan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Charles.
Bob was a life-long member of St. Lawrence Catholic church and a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and boating with his family. Many fond memories of Bob were made with his family at Carlyle Lake and his trip to Arkansas floating on the White River. Bob will be remembered for his skills as a sewing repair technician. Over the years, Bob also enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals with his wife Marilyn, either in the comfort of his recliner at home or at Busch Stadium.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Memorials in Bob’s memory may be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
