Mason Lee Wathan, 23, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018. He was born January 4, 1995 the son of Jack Wathan and Kathy McCown.

Mason leaves beloved memories to be cherished by his parents, Jack “Doug” Wathan and wife Melanie, Kathy McCown and Andre Hill, all of Centralia; the love of his life, Alex Roper of Centralia, his precious daughter, McKenna Shae Wathan of Centralia, and his devoted siblings, Brittany Wathan, Tanner Murray, Kaylee Murray, Tony Hill, Katrice Hill, Tionna Hunt, Kittanah Hill, Keaston Hill; maternal grandmother, Charlene Nix; paternal grandparents Pamela Hill, Billie Wathan, Lynette Murray; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; great friends, Anthony McElroy, Brandon Duhon, Justin Evans, Josh Heern, and the rest of the #FishOnBoys.

Mason was preceded in death by both of his paternal grandparents, Jack L. Wathan Sr., David Murray; maternal grandfather Robert McCown

Mason graduated from Centralia High School in 2013 and had a heart of a lifelong Orphan. He was an outstanding athlete, playing both football and basketball for the Centralia Orphans. Mason was a hard worker and a true asset to the company he worked for, Americana in Salem. Mason could be called an extreme outdoorsman. He truly enjoyed his time spent outdoors, riding four-wheelers and motorcycles, fishing, and shooting guns at his Dad’s. Mason was an awesome cook, grilling amazing meals he loved to share with others. He had an infectious smile, and great sense of humor always making others laugh. Mason’s family and friends were everything to him. He will be remembered always as a great father, son, brother, fiancé, cousin, and friend. His legacy will continue on in the hearts of all the people he called family and friend.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Delmar Hill officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Immediately following the service there will be a reception that everyone is invited to at Jack Wathan’s house on Saturday. A graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Memorial contributions in Mason’s honor can be made to the family for the continued care of his daughter, McKenna. Arrangements are under the care of Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
