Ivy Magdalene Cooper, 82, of Patoka, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on August 29, 1935 the daughter of Dwight and Florence (Pendleton) Partridge in Murphysboro, IL. She married Robert Cooper on June 16, 1951.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Robert Wayne Cooper of Patoka; 5 children, Marcia Warren (Butch) of Granite City, Robbie Cooper of TX, Patty Whitworth (Gary) of Wilsonville, IL, John Cooper (Wanda) of Potosi, MO, and Tiny Cooper of Benld, IL; 15 grandchildren, Larry Warren Jr., Timmy Warren, Carolette Vandygriff, Kimberly Abbott, Christie Bertolis, Scott Whitworth, Jacqueline Bilbruck, Tony Cooper, Shari Tilley, Tasha Gregory, Helen Lawson, Kenny Hedrick, Jewel Cooper, Christopher Cooper, and Chrystal Ellis; 37 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Raymond Partridge (Carol Lee) of TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Ivy was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Partridge; mother, Florence Partridge; 2 sisters, Flora Mae McKinney, and Diana Wallace.

Ivy was grateful for her blessing of a wonderful husband and very proud of the 67 years of marriage they shared. She had an artistic eye and loved to create beautiful canvas crafts. Ivy had a keen mind, enjoying the challenge of crossword puzzles and playing spades on the computer. Her most treasured times were spent with her family as they were so close to her heart. Ivy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018 with Reverend Rick Wilmoth officiating at Pratt Cemetery in Patoka. Memorials may be made in Ivy’s honor to Pratt Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
