Rachel Emma Edwards, 84, of Centralia, passed away surrounded by her family, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Cedarhurst Memory Care of Centralia. She was born on May 31, 1934 the daughter of Charles and Edna (Deadmond) Lyons in Beckemeyer. She married Stanley Edwards and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1973. She married Lloyd Edwards and he preceded her in death in May 18, 2003.

Survivors include Rachel’s beloved children, Stanley Edwards Jr. (Wanda) of Dessert Palm, CA, Steven Edwards (Pamela) of Odin, Il, Pam Soltis (Bob) of Charlotte, NC, Vickie Ferguson (Larry) of Centralia, IL; Step-children, Ron Edwards (Liz) of Troy, Il, Doug Edwards (Gail) of Richview, IL, Guy Edwards (Cindy) of Centralia, IL, and Tammy Franklin (Steven) of Cincinnati, OH; 10 cherished grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren; numerous precious great-grandchildren and step- great-grandchildren; 2 treasured great-great-grandchildren; loving sisters, Judy Evans (Pete), Janet Kingsley (Jim), Margaret Watts, and Aleta Meeks; many nieces and nephews; special caretakers, Lisa Breeze, Kristen Schnur, Carla Schuhart, Erin Mooney; and many friends of Cedarhurst.

Along with her husband, Stanley Edwards, and her husband Lloyd Edwards, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by both her parents; sister, Charlotte Lyons; brothers, Lional Lyons, Jim Lyons, Bill Lyons, and Ronnie Lyons; and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of Calumet Christian Church, where she volunteered and shared her amazing faith. Rachel was also a member of the Red Hat Society and participated in TOPS weekly, making many friends and treasured memories. She was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping, and flower gardening. She loved to watch Family Feud and even had other members of her family turning on the television to watch it as well. Rachel was extremely proud of her family and found her greatest enjoyment in the times spent with her family and friends. She was kind, friendly, had a contagious laugh and had a wonderful way of making everyone feel special and at home.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with John Willis officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visiting hours are from 1 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Rachel’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association, Kidney Foundation, and Six Lemons.
