Elizabeth “Libby” Hixenbaugh, 72, of Centralia, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on August 29, 1946 the daughter of A.J. and Laura (Creamer) Simpson in Ashley. She married the love of her life, Terry Hixenbaugh in Santa Claus, IN in 1980.

Libby was truly devoted to her loving family, survivors include her husband, Terry Hixenbaugh; children, Sharon McCann of Centralia, Cari Maines and special friend Joey White of Centralia, Steven Linder of Centralia, Michelle Hixenbaugh of Centralia, Sara Wright and husband Carl of Centralia, Jenninfer Moore of St. Libory, Mary Williams and special friend Charles Reynolds of Centralia, Butch Mathus of Wamac, Charlie Mathus of SC, and Susie Rickards of SC; grandchildren, Stephonta Moore of Centralia, Aaron Moore of Centralia, Michael Love of NM, Tashara Maines and special friend Johnny of AZ, Anthony Linder of Centralia, Jordan Maines of Centralia, Tashee Maines of Centralia, O’day’ah Wright of Centralia, O’Dell Wright Jr. of Centralia, Savannah Linder of IN, Steven Linder of Salem, Mackenize Linder of Salem, Cheyenne Linder of Salem, Brittany Hodge and husband Eric of Odin, Kendra Eaker and husband Blain of Odin, Leighton Bundy and wife Ashten of Hurst, Samantha Wright, and Carlton Wright; great-grandchildren, Alijah, Damon, Aryenna, Azzon, Olliver, Abigail, Hunter, and Maylynn; sister, Wanda Talley of IL; honorary sister, Donna Hixenbaugh; many nieces and nephews; host of brother-in-laws and sister-in laws; special friend and father of 2 of Libby’s grandchildren, O’Dell Wright Sr. of Centralia; and special niece, Veronica (Nurk) Cox of Iuka.

Libby was preceded in death by both her parents; her first husband, Bud Linder; siblings, Willie Simpson, and Dorothy Hull; 3 half-siblings; sons-in-law, Michael Maines, and Klay Bundy; and brother-in-law, Harold Talley.

Libby was an amazing lady that showed love to everyone she knew. She was a devoted Christian. Libby loved cooking for and hosting her family and friends while making treasured memories. She enjoyed attending karaoke, winning at scratch-offs, watching game shows and Judge Judy. Libby liked to show off her Coca-Cola collection and finding quiet times to read Indian romances. She will be most remembered for her love of family and her presence will be deeply missed.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Libby’s son, Steve Linder officiating. A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the funeral home in Centralia. Memorial contributions may be made in Libby’s honor to The Family.
