Kenneth A. Brim, 98, of Carlyle passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 3, 1920 the son of Thomas and Martha (Mitchell) Brim in Fairland, OK. He married Norma Bell and she preceded him in death in 1993. He married Naydeen Ballenger and she preceded him in death in 2013.

Survivors include his devoted daughters, Betty Gent and husband Larry of Carlyle, and Christine Muench and husband Jack of Indianapolis, IN; step-daughters, Waydeen Crosby and husband Eddie of Dallas, TX, and Jean Amos and husband Albert of Miami, OK; 5 grandchildren, Shawn Muench, Shane Muench, Lori Gent, Greg Gent and wife Lisa, and Krista Gent Thompson and husband Steve; 6 step-grandchildren, Debbie Crosby, Laurie Hallberg and husband Mitch, Lisa Bond and husband Mike, Jason Crosby, Raymond Magness and wife Heather, and Aaron Magness and wife Deborah ; 6 great-grandchildren, Bobby Muench, Bethany Gent, Kasey Gent, Ethan Gent, Lexi Gent, and Riley Thompson; 8 step-great-grandchildren, Sara, Andrew, Christian, Tracy, Ethan, Emily, Stephanie, and Nickie.

Along with both of his wives, Norma, and Naydeen, Kenneth was preceded in death by both his parents; brothers, Oscar Brim, Mitch Brim, Shelby Brim, Eura Brim, and Carl Brim; sisters, Ruth Adams, Wilma Brim, and Etta Bickle.

Mr. Brim was a proud member of the United States Army Air Corp serving during World War II. He was a member of the Christian Church of Sandoval, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #932 of Sandoval, and Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois. Before retirement he worked diligently as a foreman for the Sohio Petroleum Oil Company. Kenneth was well known for his love of animals, raising and showing quarter horses.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Pastor Steve Barrett officiating. Masonic Rites will be given at 12:45p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, with Centralia VFW Post 2055 American Legion Post 446 according military rites. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation time from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials in Kenneth’s honor may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
