Florence Henrietta Beckmann, 95, of Sandoval, passed away December 28, 2018 at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Centralia, surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1923 in Breese, the daughter of William and Pauline (Thein) Deien. She married Clarence F. Beckmann on February 12, 1947 in Breese. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1996.

Florence is survived by her loving children Joseph Beckmann of Kell, Mark Beckmann, wife Sherran of Bryan, TX, Neil Beckmann, special friend Julie Gherardini of Centralia, Paulette Kerley, husband Monte of Cherry Valley, IL, Linda Jones DeKalb, husband Phillip of Sandoval, Teresa Goatey, husband Robin of Sandoval, and Jennifer Jones, husband Richard of Waltonville, IL; devoted grandchildren Jeremy, Eli, Marcy, Joshua, Lindsay, Samantha, Sidney; 6 great- grandchildren; two sisters-in-laws Delores Reynolds and Marg Beckmann; dear friends Barb Rohner and Jeanne Nalewajka; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers Robert Deien and Elmer Deien, wife Ruth; brothers and sisters-in-law Margie Schmidt, husband Alvin, Gene Beckmann, wife Veronica, Alice Koerkenmeier, husband Edgar, Cyril Beckmann, Victor Beckmann, wife Rita, Joe Reynolds.

Mrs. Beckmann was a devoted member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval, where she was active in the St. Monica Sodality, church choir, and the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary serving as a pink lady. She raised her family and was the host that brought her family around the dinner table. She retired from Murray Center in the dietary department. Florence and her husband Clarence loved dancing and listening to music. Florence also enjoyed in her free time many different kinds of needle work, including embroidery, crocheting, and quilting along with sketching people’s faces and figures.

Rosary service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Deacon John Hempen officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval and one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be performed at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Dale Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the SSM Hospice or the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
