Vera Mae Lytle, 82, of Centralia went home to heaven, surrounded by her loving family, Friday, December 28, 2018. She was born on January 7, 1936 the daughter of Thomas and Anniebell (Washington) Young in Centralia. She married Odell Lytle in November of 1956 and they were later divorced, 6 children were born of this union.

Survivors include her devoted children, Delmore “Slug” Lytle and wife Luberta of Centralia, Gail Spearman and husband Damon of Aurora, CO, Natalie Carr and husband Derrick of Centralia; special brother, Rolland Lawson; 11 treasured grandchildren; 18 cherished great-grandchildren; 5 precious great-great-grandchildren; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vera was preceded in death by both her parents, Thomas and Anniebell Young; step-mother, Martha Young; special mother, Frances Lawson; children, Thomas D. Lytle, Jeffrey Lytle, and Karen Lytle; siblings, Orlando Young, Kenneth McBride, Dorothy Mae Young, Wylean Campbell, Gloria Nelson, Ernestine Dunnaway, Betty Harris; cousin, Delores Wanzo; special brothers, Willie Lawson, and Herman Lawson; and grandchild, Baby Lytle.

Vera was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Centralia where she loved to praise and worship her Lord and Savior. She was highly active in the church serving on the Usher Board, Senior Choir, and Kitchen Committee. Vera was also proud to be involved in the community of Centralia, holding position as an Election Judge, member of the Women’s League and NAACP. Vera was a beautiful, generous soul that set an amazing example for her family to continue on.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Second Baptist Church in Centralia with Rev. Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Family and friends are invited to a visitation time from 12 to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
