William A. “Billy” Cook, 61, of Central City passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born on March 9, 1958 the son of George Jr. and Evelyn (Tucker) Cook in Centralia.

Survivors that will carry on Billy’s memory include his significant other of 26 years, Janice Wooden; daughters, Cheryl Boyce, and Ellen Boyce; 5 grandchildren, Austin Cook, Abigail Boyce, Adilynn Boyce, Avery Boyce, and Gabriel Bryan; brothers, Vernon Cook of Basile, LA, and John Cook, Brenda of Centralia; sisters, Georgia Lambert of Walnut Hill, Cindy Crane, Brad of Sandoval, and Mary Pierce of Centralia; brother-in-law, Mark Lambert of Fairview Heights.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by both his parents; and sister, Ellen Casner.

Mr. Cook proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be remembered for his love of baseball and his loyalty to his favorite team the Chicago Cubs.
