Lottie Stein Lane returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 28, 2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness.

Lottie was born to Jim and Florence Lewis in McComb, MS on April 22, 1925. She was educated in the
Public Schools of McComb. The family later moved to Centralia, IL. After some time, Lottie moved to Chicago, IL where she met and married Roy Lane, Jr. This union lasted for 57 years; ending when “Lane” died in February 2013.

Lottie was a member of Woodlawn AME Church for many years and enjoyed serving on the Usher Board until her illness forced her to stop.

She enjoyed her “BLOCK CLUB” (president for many years) and neighbors, bowling, returning to Centralia for Family Reunions, traveling, music and outings with friends.

Lottie will be greatly missed. The youngest of 14 children, she was preceded in death by her parents, 13 siblings and her beloved husband. She leaves to cherish her memory two special nephews, Eric Collins of Centralia, IL and Tony Bell (Toni) of Chicago, IL who were her dedicated caregivers after her husband's death; her devoted sister-in-law, Helen S. Lewis (Glenarden, MD) and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Thanks are given to the Ingalls Memorial Interdisciplinary Hospice Team for their care of Lottie.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Ricks Chapel AME Zion Church in Centralia with Rev. Val J. Powe officiating. A visitation time will be held from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at the Church. Memorials may be made in Lottie’s honor to Ricks Chapel AME Zion Church.
