Jimmy Neal Maas, 83, of Sandoval passed on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born the son of Charlie and Irene (Martin) Maas on December 13, 1935 in Sandoval, at his family home. He married the love of his life Linda Outhouse on September 29, 1960 at Patoka Baptist Church and she survives him in Sandoval.

Jimmy was devoted to his family survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years Linda Maas of Sandoval; cherished children, Larry Maas and wife Danya of Kell, Kathy Telford and husband Joe of Walnut Hill, and Amanda Tindall and husband Nick of High Ridge, MO; precious grandchildren, Stephanie and Sgt. Justin Burton, Erin Maas, Rachel Maas, Josh and Helen Telford, Chase Telford and fiancée Sammi Hans, Alex Tindall, and Ana Tindall; dear twin brother, Jerry Maas and wife Jessie of Vandalia.

Along with both of his parents, Charlie and Irene Maas, Mr. Maas was preceded in death by his brother, Don Maas.

Jimmy graduated Sandoval High School in the year of 1954. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Airforce from 1955 to 1963 with the Strategic Air Command. He was an Airman 1st class, serving in counter measures. Mr. Maas was a proud veteran and always shared his patriotism with others. After marrying his true love Linda, they raised their family in Sandoval and Jimmy worked to support them as a General Manager at Swan Corporation. With a competitive spirit Jimmy loved to watch sports. His happiest days were spent planting, tending, and sharing his garden with family and friends. Jimmy was a kind man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. The memories shared between Jimmy and his family and friends are treasured and will be a comfort.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Dr. David Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City. A visitation time will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2019 at the funeral home in Sandoval, and an hour prior to services on Tuesday at funeral home. Memorials may be made in Jimmy’s honor to the Honor Flight Network.
