Marianne A. Barr, 88, of Centralia passed away peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Centralia surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on May 25, 1931 the daughter of William Charles and Marie (Morris) McCallion in Tulsa, OK. She married her best friend, James “Bob” Barr on November 19, 1983 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2016.

Survivors include her beloved sons, Jeffery Ruhl of Centralia, and Rick Ruhl and wife Susie of Irvington; dear step-daughter, Kitten Dunkison and husband Dave of Prescott, AZ; 4 cherished grandchildren, Cristy Gilbert and husband Bobby of Walnut Hill, Mindy McCune and husband Chuck of Opdyke, Heather Mansker and husband Craig of Centralia, Craig Ruhl and special friend Shaina of Centralia; 6 precious great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kylee, Savanna, Ashlynn, Perry, Witten, and expecting baby Elijah.

Along with her husband of 32 years, Bob Barr, Marianne was preceded in death by both her parents, William and Marie McCallion, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Mrs. Barr was a faithful member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, CWF, and belonged to the Pallet and Brush Club at the Cultural Society. Marianne worked for Ritchies in downtown Centralia where returning customers would always be glad to see her, as well as a smiling dental assistant at Dr. McCall’s office, and loved helping others capture their memories as a clerk at McTall’s Photography Studio. She was a gentle soul, greeting all she met with a smile and a kind word; her grandchildren knew her as their only Granny. Marianne loved and respected her husband Bob and shared precious memories of the life they shared, especially their Sunday lunch dates at the Centralia Elks. She was known for loving all animals. Marianne was the host to all family gatherings bringing everyone together around her dinner table with her famous chocolate upside down cake.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made in Marianne’s honor to the Centralia Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home. The family of Mrs. Barr are so thankful for the care that was given to Marianne at the Cedarhurst Memory Care in Centralia.
