Agnes Mae Jenkins, 92, of Patoka passed away peacefully Saturday, October 12, 2019. She was born on October 19, 1926 the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Humes) Hayes in Fayette County. She married William “Bill” R. Jenkins on September 7, 1944 in Chester, IL and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her devoted sons, James Jenkins and wife Gloria of Christopher, and William “Bill” C. Jenkins of Sandoval; 5 loving grandchildren; 9 precious great-grandchildren; 5 cherished great-great-grandchildren; kind daughter-in-law, Linda Jenkins of Kerrville, TX.

Along with her husband, Bill Jenkins, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by both her parents, Thomas and Mary Hayes; sisters, Mary Reed, and Pauline Laws; brothers, Harry Hayes, Edward Hayes, and Robert Hayes; and son, Steven Jenkins.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval where she was always ready to volunteer her services. She was a cook at Patoka School for 28 years before retiring in 1982. Agnes had a generous heart and was always at the ready to help others. She played an intricate role in the raising of her sisters and they shared a close bond. Agnes was so very proud to shower her own family with love and support. She truly was a blessing to each family member.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is honored to be assisting the family of Agnes with arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 18, 2019 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Sandoval with Father Patrick Peter officiating. Memorials may be made in Agnes’ honor to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
