Ronald “Ronnie” Kelly Firebaugh 76, of Centralia passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1943 the son of Kelly J. and Alliene A. (Hart) Firebaugh in Centralia. He married Louella Sweeney and two sons were born of this union, they later divorced.

Survivors remaining that hold treasured memories include his devoted sons, Kelly Firebaugh and wife Jeanette of Rochester, Kenny Firebaugh and wife Kristen of Carlyle; precious grandchildren, Nicole Miskelly and husband Shawn of Marion, Shea Firebaugh of Rochester, Taron Firebaugh and fiancée Kaylyn of Seabrook, TX, Baker, Faith, and Carson Firebaugh all of Carlyle; dear brother, Joel Firebaugh of Memphis, TN.

Ronnie was preceded in death by both his parents, Kelly and Alliene Firebaugh; and life partner, Shirley Gallatin.

Ronnie has been a lifelong resident of the Centralia community, being raised as a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He graduated from Centralia Township High School in 1961. Ronnie went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he supported himself and his family by moving furniture and went on to perfect his trade of butchering meat. Ronnie opened up and operated Ron’s Meat Market now known as Dan’s Meat Market. Ronnie also worked as a Fireman and at Lockheed Aircraft while raising his family. Ronnie found a special love later in life Shirley Gallatin, and they shared their families as if they were their own. Ronnie stepping in as a Father and Papa to Shirley’s children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Bears, Centralia VFW Post 2055, and American Legion Post 446. After retirement you could find Ronnie behind the Bar at the VFW in Centralia serving drinks with a smile and a story. He loved to root on the Kansas City Chiefs, and the St. Louis Cardinals no matter the score. Ronnie enjoyed being on pool league and bowling league as well as square-dancing from time to time. Some will remember him for his mouth-watering ham salad and others will cherish the memories of their Father, Grandpa, and Friend.

A Celebration on life service will be held 10:00A.M. Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Rev Paula Comper officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval with Military rites being accorded by Ronnie’s friends and brothers in service from the Centralia VFW Post 2055, and American Legion Post 446. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home and 9:00A.M. till time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made in Ronnie’s honor to Irvin Macz Funeral Home to help aid in funeral expenses.
