Orville Finckbone, 76, of Odin passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at his home in Odin. He was born on August 6, 1943 the son of Charlie and Beema (Glenn) Finckbone in Alma.

Survivors include his devoted son, Mike Finckbone and wife Marcia of Odin; kind daughter-in-law, Glenda Finckbone of Odin; 9 precious grandchildren; 18 cherished great-grandchildren; caring sister, Shirley Mills of Ohio.

Mr. Finckbone was preceded in death by both his parents; son, Richard Finckbone; and great-grandchild, Brooks Trentman.

Orville worked for the Hershey’s Candy Company as a line department manager. He had an amazing singing voice and was lead singer for the country and western band, “Good Old Boys” for 30 years. Orville never missed a high school basketball game that his son, Mike coached for 25 years. He loved to coach from the stands, sharing all of his tricks of the trade from when he played basketball himself. Orville enjoyed time spent with his son, Rick trying their luck at the gambling boats. He was a proud grandpa and loved spending time with his grandchildren, entertaining them, and spoiling them. Orville was a loyal father, grandfather, brother, and friend and his smile will be missed by all.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with his son, Mike Finckbone officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin. Memorials may be made in Orville’s honor to Peaceful Valley Cemetery.
