Evelyn Cauble, 86, of Centralia passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on March 20, 1933 the daughter of Fate and Roberta (Lawing) Wiseman in Bronx, NY. She married George Cauble in May of 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Survivors include her devoted son, Carl Cauble of Centralia; kind brothers, Don Wiseman (Helen) of Germany, and Carl Wiseman of Johnson City, TN; and caring sister, Mary Lowery of Johnson City, TN.

Along with her husband, George Cauble, Evelyn was preceded in death by both her parents.

Evelyn was a dedicated employee of Pinkerton Security in St. Louis, MO as an investigator for 10 years. It was here where she was able to put her ability to pay attention to details into practice. She later was manager for Quail Run Mobile Home Park in Edwardsville for 9 years. Evelyn had a tender, compassionate heart for children and fostered 69 children in the Edwardsville, IL and Cahokia, MO areas. She has called Centralia her home since moving there in 1986. She was an amazing cook and loved to make guest feel welcome when they would come to visit. Evelyn’s memory will be treasured and shared with her family and friends.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel in rural Sandoval. Memorials may be made in Evelyn’s honor to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
