Leo Clemons, 85, of Centralia was called home to Heaven on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on July 9, 1934 the son of Harlan Ross and Genieve Byrd. He was born in New Grand Chain, IL. on July 9, 1934. He married his sweetheart, Marva Coleman on March 3, 2000 and she survives in Centralia.

Along with his wife of 20 years, Marva Clemons, survivors that will hold treasured memories of Pastor Clemons include his beloved children, Paula Johnson and Kenny Ward of IN, Nadine Clemons and Joseph Powell of Peoria, Sherry Smith and husband James of Peoria, Tammy Whitaker and husband Randall of Metropolis, Michelle Horrell of MO, Stacy Craig and Edward Mims of Marion, Tyler Horrell and wife Denise of NY, Curtis Clemons of Decatur, Marvin Watson of Madison, Princess Harmon and husband Delarrian of Madison, Gary Watson and wife Marianne of AZ; several precious grandchildren; a host of cherished great-grandchildren; and siblings, Harvey Collins and wife Regina, Gale Garrett and husband Samuel, and Jane Johnson and husband Curtis.

Pastor Clemons was preceded in death by both his parents; sisters, Catherine Montgomery, Geneva Lugo; brother, Harlen Collins; son, Malvin Watson; uncles and aunts, Thomas Johnson Jr., Elvers Johnson, Clarence Johnson, Lillian Hayes, Armentha Butler; a host of other aunts and uncles; and special aunt, Iola Massie.

Pastor Clemons had many experiences during his life which helped him to be able to relate to the young as well as the elderly. He retired from Wagner Castings in Decatur, IL. as a forklift driver for over 30 years. Pastor Clemons loved to travel and was a lover of the Western Movies. His favorite shows were the The Lone Ranger, The Texas Rangers and Gunsmoke. He was also a sharp dresser and enjoyed dressing to the nines. He was known as a comedian and could always bring out a smile on everyone. Pastor Clemons was a protective family man and was devoted to capturing cherished moments with those he loved. His favorite sports teams were The Dodgers, The Rams, and the LA Lakers.


Pastor Clemons and his wife Marva founded True Holiness Deliverance Ministries on 9/11/2005, and ministered their 13 years until he had a heart attack in 2018. Pastor Clemons was in a diabetic coma on April 5th and the Lord allowed him to go to heaven. When God brought him back he told his wife that heaven was the most beautiful place that he had ever seen, but if a person wants to go there, they will have to pay a price.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Leo Clemons with arrangements. A private family gathering was held.
