Austin Cooper, 89, of Odin passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 in Odin. He was born on April 2, 1931 the son of Larry and Sally (Dotson) Cooper in Madisonville, TN. He married Jeannette Milin on August 17, 1953 and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2005.

Survivors include his devoted children, sons, Donald Cooper of Odin, Gary Cooper, (Jennifer) of Onarga, Larry Cooper, (Debbie) of Murphysboro, Roger Cooper, (Evelyn) of Coffeen, and Tom Cooper, (Monica) of Coal City, and daughter, Cassaundra Green, (James) of Centralia; and 12 treasured grandchildren.

Along with his loving wife of 51 years, Jeannette Cooper, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by both his parents; 11 siblings; son, Ronald Cooper; and grandson, Jason Cooper.

Mr. Cooper worked hard to provide for his family as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years. He enjoyed time in his garden, and every animal that he met he loved. Austin was extra proud of his tractor and liked his time spent working with it. He attended auctions and was always ready to do some trading. Austin was deeply loved by his family and his memory will be cherished.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin is privileged to be assisting the family of Austin Cooper with arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 3, 2020 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Rev. Donald Shaffer officiating. Memorials may be made in Austin’s honor to the family’s wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home.
