Charles “Charley” Foltz, 80, of Odin passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Odin Health Care Center. He was born on June 6, 1940 the son of Ralph & Catherine (Ott) Foltz in Centralia. He married Linda Hediger in Woburn, IL and two children were born of this union. They later divorced.

Survivors that will remember Charles’ generous heart include his beloved daughter, Jody Wimberly and husband Martin of Odin; cherished grandchildren, Blake Foltz and wife Ariel of Missouri, Bryce Foltz and wife Jessica of Central City, Braden Foltz of Centralia, Logan Wimberly of Odin, and Reese Wimberly of Odin; treasured great-grandchildren, Merida Foltz of Missouri, Lincoln and Zoey Walker of Central City; a sister, Sandra VonLanken and husband Roger of Carbondale; step-sister, Pam Haake of Hoffman; a daughter-in-law, Pauletta Foltz of Centralia; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family; special friends, Terry Bill, and Kurt Rommerskirchen.

Mr. Foltz was preceded in death by both his father, Ralph, and mother, Catherine; step-father, Rev. Wallace Watson; step-mother, Alliene Foltz; son, Robbin Foltz; brother, Jimmy Foltz; and step-brother, Richard Pettersson.

Master Sergeant Charles Foltz was a proud United States Air Force veteran that served his country with honor for 20 years, from 1959-1979, with Vietnam service included. Charles also served on bases in Germany, Turkey, England, New York, Texas, California, and Scott Air Force Base in O’Fallon, IL. After retirement from the Air Force, Charles was a faithful employee at Carlisle Syntec where he continued to provide for his family. He truly enjoyed to travel, and to visit all the beautiful places across the United States in his motor home. Charles was known for his love of red sports cars and was the proud owner of a red corvette, which he would color coordinate his jacket to when out driving. He lived in Florida after retirement enjoying this area and the people he met in the community. Charles was known as Grandpa to his grandchildren and always offered support and his love for his family.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin is privileged to be assisting the family of Charles Foltz with arrangements. Private family services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020, where Military Rites will be accorded to honor Charles’ years of service. Memorials may be made in Charles’ honor to Family’s Wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home.
