Raymond Edward “Coon” Tadlock, 85, of Vandalia passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020. He was born on May 12, 1935 the son of Pearl Raymond and Blanche Mae (Holsapple) Tadlock in Odin.

Survivors that will remember Raymond’s gentle spirit include his devoted children, sons, Karl Tadlock of Niagra Falls, NY, Donald Tadlock of Richland, MO, James Tadlock of Dixon, MO; daughters, Linda VanAlstine of Mexico, MO, Brenda Beck of Dixon, MO, Brandy Reed of O’Fallon, MO; step-daughter, Paulisa Laughlin of Clearwater, MO; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Karen) Tadlock of Severend, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Doris Tadlock of Carlyle, and Lois Tadlock of Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Tadlock was preceded in death by parents Pearl and Blanche Tadlock; siblings Virginia, Thomas, George, William, Robert, Joan, John, Jeanette, and Charles; and grandson, John Anthony Beck.

Raymond called Odin his home for his early years, graduating from Odin High School, Class of 1953. Mr. Tadlock was a proud United States Army veteran, serving with honor from 1954 – 1964. He served in the infantry for 5 years and then with the military police for 5 years. Upon returning home from the military, Raymond called Granite City his home and then later Vandalia. He worked diligently to make deliveries in a timely manner while driving as an over the road truck driver until his retirement. He was a protective father to his children and always did his best to provide for each of them. Raymond emulated a love for his family and his country that will never be forgotten. He will be fondly remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin is privileged to be assisting the family of Raymond Tadlock with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P. M. Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Reno Keith sharing the family’s memories. Burial to follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. A visitation time to share condolences with the family will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home, where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited. Memorials may be made in Raymond’s honor to the family wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home 234 S Elm St. Centralia, Il 62801.
