Evelyn Mae Lyons, 73, of Odin passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born on December 4, 1946 the daughter of Edward R. and Ann M. (Suarez) Lyons in Centralia.

Survivors that will remember Evelyn’s love of people include her cherished nieces and nephews, Kevin Kelso and wife Tina of Sandoval, Stacey McCaskey and husband Chris of Belleville, Kelly Kelso and wife Vanessa of Centralia, and Christopher Kelso and wife Pam of Bloomington; special great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica Kelso, Megan Mick and husband Tyler, Peyton Kelso, Briar Kelso, Blake Witthaus and wife Sydney, Kalob Kelso, Kenslei Kelso, and Helena Kelso; precious great-great-nieces, Sawyer Mick, Willow Mick, and Raegan Witthaus; loving sister, Barbara Donahue of NJ.

Evelyn was preceded in death by both her parents; sister, Diana Kelso Wells; infant brother, Edward Lyons, Jr.

Evelyn was a loyal employee at Wheaten Plastics in Centralia for 12 years where her kind, outgoing personality helped her make many great friendships. She was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval. Evelyn had a wonderful smile and could put people at ease. She enjoyed playing cards, going to Bingo with friends, fishing and spending summers at cookouts. She loved to spend her free time with family. She liked to share fun conversations and spread her positive attitude.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Evelyn Lyons with arrangements. A private graveside service will be held at the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Sandoval with Rev. Fr. Steven Pautler officiating. Memorials may be made in Evelyn’s honor to Sandoval Fire Department and/or St. Lawrence Catholic Church and will be accepted at Macz Funeral Home 234 S. Elm St. Centralia, IL 62801.
