Harold Gary Foltz, 84, of Patoka walked into the loving arms of Jesus last night, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 with his family by his side loving him. Diana softly and sweetly sang hymns and it was when she sang Blessed Assurance and softly kissed him that he went home. He was a sweet, kind man who is no doubt talking right now in Heaven. He was born on December 7, 1936 the son of Harold Guy and Myrtle (Good) Foltz in Vandalia. He married the love of his life, Diana Headley on March 28, 1986 at the Patoka Christian Church and she survives in Patoka.

Along with his wife of 34 years, Diana Foltz, survivors that will remember fondly Gary’s gentle spirit include his beloved family sons, Jeffrey Guy Foltz and wife Sherri, Mark Jonathon Foltz and wife Tammy (Johnson) Foltz, and Tracy Murray and wife Jennifer; daughter, Teresa Murray; grandchildren, Sarah Faye Foltz, Jakob Guy Foltz, Grace Elizabeth Foltz, Caroline Emma Foltz, Tyson Murray and wife Lindsey, Whitney Lowery and husband Matt, Austin Mansker, and Rylie Mansker; great-grandchildren, Chloee, Liam, Emmie, Lilly, Jake, Nicolas, Elaina, and Mia; sister, Pat Jenner and husband Don; and nephews Greg Jenner, and Jim Jenner.

Gary was preceded in death by both his parents; and his special aunt and uncle, Milton and Electa Peddicord.

Gary served in the United States Army with pride from 1960-1962 where he was stationed in Germany. Gary managed an Oliver Equipment dealership at Sandoval with his Dad, after coming home from the Army. Known as a man with an unfailing work ethic, he worked at Lange Equipment in Patoka as parts man for many years and was the fuel man for Nattier Oil Co for a few years. He loved farming, feeling at home on his tractor and worked as a farmer for 60 years until his retirement in 2015. Gary truly treasured spending time with his boys at Foltz Welding and his farming shed and was proud of their farming legacy. He was a supporter of the community he called home and served 15 plus years on the Patoka Fire Department. He was a spiritual man and a devout Christian at Patoka Christian Church in Patoka where he led by example. Gary had a passion for traveling with his wife, Diana. The couple were able to visit many beautiful destinations together and create lasting memories of God’s masterpieces. Gary enjoyed bike riding for good exercise, roller skating, and snowmobiling, and was an avid reader. He was a true gentleman, had a mild-mannered nature and kind to everyone. Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, children, and all who knew him.
